The law firm of Payne, Watson, Miller, Malechek & Scherr, P.C. was originally founded in 1949 by John M. Lawrence, III, under the name Cocke and Lawrence. Since that time, the Firm has been continuously engaged in the business of providing legal advice and representation to the residents of the Brazos Valley. The Firm is now one of the largest law firms in Brazos County and has a law practice that extends beyond the Brazos Valley and into state and federal courts throughout the State of Texas. The Firm’s comprehensive practice covers wide range of legal matters, from local litigation to complex real estate transactions.
